CampusCorner: Unilag resumes, SUG election fever is OOU

Well, CampusCorner debuts on SMD_Nation for the first time. In this segment we will take a peep into Campuses in Nigeria to get you news, gists, rumours, and happenings in campuses round Nigeria.
On this edition we go to one of the foremost Universities in Nigeria, University of Lagos,UNILAG where it is all resumption fever. Jambites who were successful in the last post-utme finally resumed on Monday after their resumption was hampered by the ASUU strike. It was all joy for most of them. Some said it marked a beginning in their life. Some were sad to leave home and to be away from their parents for the first time. SMD_Nation spoke to a ‘freshman’ who pleaded to remain anonymous said ‘Its good to be finally here in school,in Unilag, the best institution in Nigeria. I just hope our stay here is not elongated by ASUU’ he joked. Lol well who can blame the poor soul?

In other news, it is Student Union Election fever that is gripping students of Olabisi Onabanjo University,Ago Iwoye. The election is billed to hold tomorrow. Aspirants rounded off their campaign yesterday. It was reported today that security officials at the school main gate did not allow students into school without ID Card. Who can blame them for trying to be extra careful?

We at SMD_Nation hope the election goes, smooth, free and fare and peaceful tomorrow. May the best man win.

That wraps it up on today’s edition of CampusCorner. We will be back with more gists from your campus.
